Our Festival of Female Voices raised £836.03 for Southend Hospital’s Pinpoint Charity. Thanks to the performers and audience who supported us.

If you would like to enjoy that uplifting experience of singing in a choir and meet friendly, like-minded ladies, you can be assured of a warm welcome at one of our rehearsals.

We sing a wide range of styles in four-part harmony.  Our repertoire list covers choral to pop, traditional to jazz, and songs from stage and screen.  We are able to perform this varied and challenging repertoire with the support of our Musical Director David Clark and our Accompanist Janet Walker.

Founded in 2008 in Hadleigh, near Southend on Sea, Essex the choir has a membership of 85+. Rehearsals are held on Tuesday evenings 7.30pm – 9.30pm at Hadleigh Methodist Church, corner of Chapel Lane, in Hadleigh.

For further details of how to join our choir please contact the Membership Secretary – Phone/text 07713 582942 or email: membershipsecretary@theorpheussingers.co.uk

The choir is a Registered Charity and we just love to perform. These performances enable us to support many local, national and international charities.

We have launched a special 2024 Charity Calendar.

All proceeds from sales of the calendar are supporting The Dame Vera Lynn Memorial Fund

Sir David Amess, a good friend and a keen supporter of our choir, who is so sadly missed, was instrumental in setting up this charity.  In tribute to Sir David we have compiled a 2024 calendar entitled ‘Out & About’.  Each month our photographer Frank Carter has featured choir members in different locations around Southend on Sea and further afield.

To order your copy, simply contact treasurer@theorpheussingers.co.uk

The A4 sized calendar plus postage and packing is priced at £10.

Details of our forthcoming concerts are shown below.
