Rehearsal Notices

10th March 2020

  • Subs are due from some members, please see Kathie.
  • Final payments for the tour are due, those going have received an email from Kathie confirming balance due, please pay to Kathie.
  • Thee are two tour rehearsals taking place at the Hadleigh Methodist Church at 10am, on 18th April and 2nd May.
  • The concert on the 4th April – the coaches will pick us up from outside Morrisons, in the bus lane, at 2.30pm. Please be there ready and waiting as the coaches can’t park up waiting for us. Parking will be tricky at that time on a Saturday afternoon so please leave yourselves enough time. Dropping us off in Muswell Hill will also have to be a swift exit from the coach as the coaches are going to have to stop where they should not.
  • Shirley has damson jam and Easter chicks for sale at the back of the church. Also, please let Shirley have any unwanted wool which she will use for the guides jamboree in the summer.
  • Choir publicity is available at the back of the church, please take and distribute.

3rd March 2020

  • New music has been given out, together with the new repertoire list. Please use the added page with your name on it for doodling, please don’t draw/write all over your music, only mark your music appropriately.
  • The final tour payment is now due, please pay Kathie.

  • Shirley has Easter chicks for sale, in aid of the RNLI.
  • Marion gave an update on our president Sadie Nine, who had a dreadful accident 4 months ago, she has now recovered and back on the radio.

25th February 2020

  • Please see your section leaders to book a seat on the coach for the concert in Muswell Hill.  Members are free but any guests need to pay £5 for their seat on the coach.

18th February 2020

  • The next concert is on the 4th April, with the London Met Band, in Muswell Hill. We are trying to organise the coaches, can all members who are going please let their section heads know if they wish to bring someone with them, there will be a £5 charge for guests. Tickets for the concert are £5 and will be available on their website, details of which will be available next week from Kathie.  The coaches are going to leave at 2pm (time to be confirmed).
  • The next Plaza Centre Concert Series is on the 28th February, this concert is pianist Antony Peebles.  The programme includes Chopin, Liszt and Brahms.  Please put your names in the hat for two free tickets.
  • Southend Shakespeare Company are performing at the Dixon Theatre, leaflets available at the back. Also their 2020 diary of events is also available at the back.

  • If anyone would like help with Facebook, which we use to promote the choir and concerts, please see eith Moira, Tanya or myself.
  • Shirley has crochet blankets at the back. Also, if you have any spare wool, Shirley is collecting the the Guides jamborie in the summer.

11th February 2020

  • The repertoire list issued tonight is the same as last time and is subject to change, but as so many people have been asking, we had to provide something. As soon as we have a new list, it will be re-issued.
  • Tanya (alto) has details of a website that has all the parts available for Jazz songs of innocence, please speak to her if you are interested.

28th January 2020

  • Second Tour payments are now due please.
  • Concert 1st February please be ready to sing at soundcheck at 6pm at Hadleigh Salvation Army.
  • Uniform for concert is our Casual black (smart trousers, long or 3/4 sleeve top + teal scarves (tied in same way we do our red/gold ones) plus pop socks and closed-in black shoes.  No pendant is required and no other neck jewellery please.
  • Ticket sales are poor (approximately 40 at present) so please promote further!
  • There will be a retiring bucket collection supporting Mayor of Castle Point’s Charity ’Trust Links’.
  •
