Notices: Tuesday 2nd November, 2021

Margaret Tickle:

  • Remembrance Concert:  Please be in the church and ready to sing at 6pm  Please don’t arrive too early because the church needs to be set up first.
We will have our own soundcheck and then with the band and orchestra.  You will then have an hour to spare before the actual concert.  Please do not mingle.  You need to keep socially distanced.  There will be no interval so there is no need to bring refreshments other than water.  Please only bring the minimum with you.  Your fleece, if you need one, can be put on the back of your chair.
  • Our uniform will be Casual – smart tailored full-length black trousers or full-length straight plain black skirt, plain black top with ¾ or long sleeves (v neck or round), red/gold choir scarf, poppy, sheer black pop socks or tights and closed in black shoes.  No pendants.  Please wear your poppy on the left.  MT will bring spare scarves with her.

Marion Orchard:

  • Chelmsford Cathedral – Lunchtime concert series – Friday 19th November.  1215 – 1.15pm. There will be a soundcheck – chairs will be provided for the choir so that you do not have to stand for too long.  The concert itself will last approximately 3/4 hour.  Because parking is quite difficult in Chelmsford, members usually use the Park and Ride facility and also car-share.
It is an honour to be asked to sing at these concerts.  It took us quite a while to get onto the concert lists and we don’t want to lose that.  Unfortunately, at the moment we do not really have sufficient members who have said they will be singing and if numbers don’t improve, we may have to cancel.  Please reconsider if you have said No to attending the concert and let your section head know.  If you need a lift to Chelmsford, please contact your section head (or Marion) to see what can be arranged.   It is really important that we do not have to cancel due to low numbers.   We do not want to let the Cathedral organisers down, especially at this late stage.
  • 30 years ago, Linda Darling’s Mother-in-law produced a charity cookbook of Tried & Tested Recipes.  The proceeds went to Havens Hospices.  Linda has now updated and produced another book entitled: Tried & Tested Recipes from the South-East Essex Community.  Proceeds will also be going to Havens Hospices.  If you would like a copy, please see Linda Darling (Alto 2).  The cost of the book is £7.
