Welcome to The Orpheus Singers, the all-female choir based in Hadleigh, Essex, very near to Southend on Sea.

Our 140+ members with an age range of 25 – 85 enjoy the exhilarating and uplifting joy of singing together.  As a registered charity, the many concerts performed throughout the year enable significant funds to be raised for a variety of local, national and international charities.

Our choir was founded in 2008 and keeping us all in tune together is our Musical Director David Clark. He is ably assisted by Melody Wallace, Assistant Musical Director and Janet Walker, Accompanist.  With their support we can perform a challenging repertoire, something for all the audience to enjoy, spirituals, songs from stage and film, jazz, traditional, folk and pop.  In fact, we sing Bohemian Rhapsody and Ave Maria and everything in between!

2017 has been a full and amazing year so far with performances in Chelmsford Cathedral, Bristol, Bath, and nearer to home, Westcliff, Rayleigh and Hadleigh.  We have been joined by a variety of talented guest choirs, Southend Wind Orchestra and Southend Band. For details of future concerts please see our Up and Coming Events section and our Concert Dates page.

A warm welcome awaits any new member. We rehearse on Tuesday evenings 7.30pm – 9.30pm at Hadleigh Methodist Church. If you would like further details of how to join or to arrange a concert for your charity or organisation, please contact via or phone 07790 613622.
